Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)

Prevention, early detection, and management of chronic health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.

Non-Communicable Diseases Program

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are long-term medical conditions that are not passed from person to person and usually develop slowly over time, such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, and heart disease.

Our Goal

To reduce the burden of chronic illnesses, prevent premature deaths, and improve the quality of life by promoting healthy lifestyles, ensuring early detection, and providing accessible, integrated, and effective care for all individuals.

Our Key Objectives

  1. Promote healthy lifestyles to prevent the onset of NCDs through awareness, nutrition, physical activity, and reduction of tobacco and harmful alcohol use.
  2. Enhance early detection and screening to identify NCDs promptly and reduce complications.
  3. Provide accessible and quality care for the management of NCDs, including medicines, monitoring, and integrated health services.
  4. Strengthen health systems and workforce capacity to effectively prevent, diagnose, and manage NCDs.
  5. Support research, data collection, and policy development to inform evidence-based interventions and planning.

NCD Program Focus Areas

  1. Prevention and Risk Reduction: We promote healthy lifestyles through nutrition, physical activity, and avoidance of tobacco and harmful alcohol use.
  2. Screening and Early Detection: We conduct community-based screenings for diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases to enable timely intervention.
  3. Diagnosis and Clinical Management: We offer referrals for treatment, follow-up care, and medication management for individuals living with chronic conditions.
  4. Patient Education and Empowerment: We equip patients and families with knowledge and skills to manage conditions and make informed health decisions.
  5. Integrated and Community-Based Care: We link NCD services with palliative care, SRH, and other health services while engaging communities to support prevention and management.

Our Service Delivery Strategy

Our NCD strategy focuses on prevention, early detection, and effective management of chronic conditions, while empowering patients and communities with knowledge and resources. Through integrated, community-centered care, we link NCD services with palliative care and SRH programs to ensure holistic, continuous support.
